02 April 2025: Leading European charging operators - Atlante, Electra, Fastned, and IONITY, join forces to launch the Spark Alliance, a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to simplify EV charging and accelerate the transition to electric mobility.

This groundbreaking partnership unites four industry leaders to create Europe’s largest and most seamless EV charging network. With over 1,700 charging stations and more than 11,000 high-quality charging points across 25 countries, the Spark Alliance aims to eliminate the complexities of public EV charging, making the experience smoother and more accessible for all drivers.

Today, EV owners often face challenges navigating multiple charging apps, pricing models, and payment methods. The Spark Alliance directly addresses these issues by allowing drivers to charge and pay at any member station using their preferred charging app - no need to download additional apps or input new payment details.

For the first time, customers of Atlante, Electra, Fastned, and IONITY will be able to access any partner charging station through their existing app, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience across Europe. Additionally, route planners within these apps will now display the full network of Spark Alliance charging locations, helping drivers locate reliable, 100% renewable-powered charging points effortlessly.

By establishing a unified and open EV charging network, the Spark Alliance is setting new standards for mass adoption of electric vehicles. This initiative removes key barriers to EV ownership and fosters confidence among drivers, businesses, and policymakers alike.
