Polestar Launches Battery Health Certificates for Pre-Owned Polestar 2 Vehicles

Sweden, 7 May 2025: Polestar has introduced a Battery State-of-Health (BSOH) Certificate for its pre-owned Polestar 2 vehicles, enhancing transparency and buyer confidence in the Polestar Pre-Owned Programme. The certificate provides a clear, percentage-based assessment of the battery’s health and usable capacity, offering customers confidence that the vehicle’s battery is performing at an optimal level.

As part of the programme, select pre-owned Polestar 2 vehicles are reintegrated into the official partner network and undergo a thorough 112-point inspection at an authorised service centre. Each car is further supported with independently verified documentation, including mileage, service history, and ownership records.

Since its debut in 2020, the Polestar 2 has benefited from over 20 over-the-air (OTA) software updates, offering ongoing improvements in performance and user experience. These updates have enhanced battery management and driving range, introduced new features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and added popular apps such as Waze and YouTube. Pre-owned buyers can rest assured they’ll receive a vehicle equipped with the latest software advancements.

Each certified pre-owned Polestar 2 comes with a 24-month warranty, plus the remaining coverage from the original 8-year battery warranty. To further enhance peace of mind, complimentary roadside assistance is also provided, offering well-rounded support after purchase.

In an official press release by Polestar, Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO stated, “Thanks to our new battery state-of-health certificate, we’ve just added another reason for used EV buyers to purchase a pre-owned Polestar 2. Along with the 112-point check, 24-month warranty and roadside assistance, plus our commitment to continually enhance our vehicles via over-the-air software updates, buyers can be confident they’re getting the very best example of a used Polestar 2 possible.

With this latest initiative, Polestar reinforces its commitment to sustainability, quality, and customer satisfaction in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market. The brand’s holistic approach not only builds trust with consumers but also supports the circular economy by extending the life and value of electric vehicles.
