July 21, 2025: Isuzu UK has officially announced the pricing and full specifications for its first-ever electric commercial pickup, the D-Max EV for the UK market. With a robust 1-tonne payload and an impressive 3.5-tonne towing capacity, this model becomes Europe’s first fully electric pickup in its class, combining Isuzu's reputation for durability with zero-emission mobility. The EV will debut in two high-spec variants: eDL40 and eV-Cross, geared toward professionals and fleet operators. Pre-orders are expected to begin later this year, with deliveries rolling out in early 2026.

Engineered for the demands of commercial use, the D-Max EV’s twin-motor configuration and 66.9kWh battery promise dependable performance across city routes and rugged terrain. Its permanent 4WD system ensures optimal grip and control, making it just as versatile as its diesel predecessors. It matches traditional expectations with a 1-tonne payload and the ability to tow up to 3.5 tonnes, now with the added benefits of electric propulsion.

Customers can choose between two feature-rich variants. The eDL40, available in both Extended and Double Cab configurations, features chrome trim, an 8-inch infotainment screen, Bi-LED headlights, and leather seating. The higher-tier eV-Cross steps it up with a 9-inch touchscreen, darker styling elements, an 8-speaker sound system, and other premium interior upgrades. Both models are equipped with dual-zone climate control, Rough Terrain Mode, and heated front seats

The D-Max EV is available in a range of striking colour options that buyers can choose. Standard Splash White comes at no extra charge, while metallic and mica options like Mercury Silver, Obsidian Grey, Onyx Black, and Biarritz Blue are available for £600 (ex. VAT). The top-tier eV-Cross includes an exclusive Dolomite White Pearl, enhanced with blue EV accents and distinct badging to highlight its electric credentials.

Given the limited competition in Europe’s EV pickup market, the D-Max EV is poised to define a new segment. Fleet clients will have the opportunity to trial demonstrator models ahead of the official customer launch in March 2026.

The Isuzu D-Max EV represents a significant leap forward in the electric commercial vehicle market, especially in Europe. With its uncompromising blend of performance, payload, and zero-emission capability, it shatters outdated assumptions about what electric pick-ups can achieve. From heavy-duty towing to rugged terrain handling, it delivers on every front without sacrificing efficiency or reliability. The D-Max EV has set a new benchmark for electric utility vehicles, firmly positioning itself at the forefront of the industry’s next chapter.
