Unilabs Expands AI in Medical Imaging with Oxipit’s Chest X-Ray Solution

Geneva, February 17, 2025: Unilabs, a top diagnostic services provider in Europe, has partnered with Oxipit, a leading medical imaging AI company, to implement AI-powered chest X-ray solutions across its European network.

Through this partnership, Unilabs will integrate Oxipit’s AI solutions, ChestLink and ChestEye, into its radiology workflows, enhancing chest X-ray reporting with automated triage and second-reading capabilities. The agreement includes the potential for group-wide adoption across Europe, beginning with an initial rollout in Portugal.

Oxipit’s AI solutions, ChestLink and ChestEye, which can identify 75 of the most common radiological findings, will enhance the automation of chest X-ray triage and reporting. This partnership aims to optimize radiology workflows by efficiently managing normal X-ray reviews, enabling radiologists to prioritise urgent and complex cases. The integration is expected to accelerate reporting times, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and improve overall efficiency, ultimately minimizing delays in diagnosis and treatment while advancing patient care.

In a publication issued by Oxipit, a statement by Baber Qazi, Head of Unilabs Radiology, reads, “Unilabs is committed to collaborating with AI vendors who provide valuable solutions that meet our rigorous validation standards. Oxipit’s chest X-ray solutions will help us in our mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centred, and cost-efficient radiology services.”

Peter Corscadden, CEO of Oxipit, also expressed his excitement about the collaboration saying, “We are honoured to be selected by Unilabs for this important long-term partnership. Their best-of-breed approach and well-established AI Center of Excellence provide an ideal environment for deploying and refining AI solutions that make a tangible impact on clinical workflows. Together, we look forward to setting a new benchmark for radiology reporting across Europe.”

The collaboration between Unilabs and Oxipit is set to streamline radiology processes, reduce reporting times, and improve overall patient care across Europe. By leveraging advanced AI technologies, Unilabs is not only optimising its radiology services but also contributing to the broader transformation of healthcare, demonstrating the significant potential of artificial intelligence in revolutionising the medical industry.
