United Kingdom, 29 April 2025: In a major move aimed at simplifying the electric vehicle charging experience for UK drivers, TotalEnergies, one of the leading Charge Point Operators (CPOs) in Europe, has partnered with Zapmap, the UK's most trusted EV charging platform. This collaboration brings seamless, app-based payments to TotalEnergies’ extensive network of charge points, particularly across London and surrounding areas.
With more than 2,700 charging stations already in operation throughout the United Kingdom, TotalEnergies is well-established in the Greater London area. With the recent integration with Zapmap's in-app payment system, Zap-Pay, EV drivers can now pay for charging at TotalEnergies outlets with a few clicks, eliminating the need for RFID cards or numerous apps.
With the inclusion of TotalEnergies, Zapmap's already remarkable reach, which now encompasses more than 37,000 devices and over 25 charging networks, is extended to include on-street, destination, and en-route charging stations. The goal is to standardise EV charging across the country so that drivers may more easily access and pay for charging wherever they travel.
Zapmap users benefit from a host of convenient features, including the ability to pay using credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. The app also provides real-time status updates, detailed charging history, and downloadable receipts, giving users full visibility and control over their EV charging activity.
In an official press release by Zapmap, Nicolas Garnier, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Charging Solutions UK Ltd, stated, “We are thrilled to partner with Zapmap to simplify EV drivers’ customer journey across the UK. This collaboration perfectly meets our ambition to make electric mobility easy and accessible to everyone.”
In the same press release, Matt Lloyd, Head of CPO Networks at Zapmap, further commented, “With TotalEnergies’ on-street charging network now live on Zap-Pay, this announcement represents a significant step forward for convenient and reliable charging for EV drivers in Greater London, as well as further afield. I’m delighted that Zap-Pay is now a part of TotalEnergies’ focus on ensuring that charging is as straightforward and accessible as possible for users of the network.”
More than just a payment upgrade, this partnership underscores a mutual commitment to making electric mobility more accessible, efficient, and user-centric. As the UK accelerates toward a cleaner transportation future, strategic collaborations like this are essential to building the seamless infrastructure that EV drivers need today and tomorrow.
