Saudi Arabia’s e-commerce industry continues to experience significant growth, underpinned by the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy to diversify the economy and embrace digital transformation.

Official figures released by the Ministry of Commerce reveal that the number of registered e-commerce businesses surged to 40,953 in the fourth quarter of 2024, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2023. As a result, the Kingdom has been ranked among the top 10 countries globally for e-commerce growth.

Logistics and Fintech Sectors Propel Growth

The Ministry’s report also highlighted rapid developments in complementary sectors crucial to e-commerce success. The logistics sector witnessed an 82% year-on-year rise in registrations, totaling 16,561 in Q4 2024. Riyadh led the way with 8,074 registrations, while Makkah and the Eastern Province recorded 4,235 and 2,038, respectively. Broader Economic Diversification Efforts

Beyond e-commerce, Saudi Arabia has achieved notable progress in industries like cloud computing, solar panel manufacturing, real estate, tourism, and entertainment. These sectors are seeing increased activity in organizing trade fairs, conferences, and events—critical drivers for economic growth.

Events Catalyzing the E-Commerce Ecosystem

The Kingdom’s burgeoning e-commerce ecosystem is supported by platforms such as the Retail Show Saudi. These events serve as catalysts for growth by bringing together industry leaders, technology providers, and policymakers. The Retail Show Saudi offers a stage to showcase transformative innovations, promote cross-sector collaboration, and drive investments in logistics, fintech, and technology.
