27 April, 2024: MG Motors UK has officially opened the order books for its highly anticipated electric roadster, the Cyberster. Pioneering a new era in automotive innovation, this sleek and futuristic vehicle represents a bold step towards sustainable mobility. With its cutting-edge design and advanced electric powertrain, the Cyberster promises an exhilarating driving experience while also contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions. Available in a single-motor configuration, the Cyberster is priced competitively, with the base model starting at £54,995. Prospective buyers can now secure their place in line, with first deliveries set to commence in August.
The base model, known as the Cyberster Trophy, boasts a power output of 250kW (equivalent to 340 PS) and generates a torque of 475 Nm. Accelerating from 0 to 62 mph (approximately 100 kph) in just five seconds, it offers impressive performance. With a top speed of 121 mph, or nearly 200 kph, the Cyberster Trophy ensures both speed and agility on the road.
The Cyberster is also offered in a GT variation, equipped with dual-motor technology and all-wheel drive capability. Boasting an impressive output of 375 kW and 725 Nm of torque, it represents MG's most potent production model so far. Accelerating from zero to 62 mph (approximately 100 kph) in a mere 3.2 seconds, it showcases remarkable performance. However, its top speed is capped at 125 mph, equivalent to approximately 201 kph.
Both the Trophy and the GT feature a 77 kWh battery located within the chassis, enabling the base model to achieve a range of up to 316 miles (507 kilometres) on a single charge, as per WTLP. Meanwhile, the higher-performance variant boasts a WTLP range of 276 miles (443 kilometres). The Cyberster is capable of charging at up to 150 kW, allowing the GT's battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 38 minutes.
Both versions additionally provide four drive settings: Comfort, Custom, Sport, and Track. The electric vehicle boasts a 249-litre trunk and, at present, is exclusively offered as a convertible two-seater, featuring an electrically operated folding roof. Notable features encompass Brembo brakes, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen (alongside two smaller 7-inch displays), dual-zone climate control, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree parking camera, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system.
