06 August, 2024: Commercial property and investment firm LCP has solidified its commitment to advancing the UK’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure through a new agreement with PoGo Charge, a leading electric vehicle charge point operator (CPO). The partnership will see the installation of ultra-rapid EV chargepoints at 52 additional sites across the UK.

This latest agreement builds upon a previous collaboration between the two companies, which involved deploying 658 ultra-rapid chargepoints nationwide. To date, 252 of these chargepoints have already been installed. The newly announced phase adds 254 more chargepoints to the initial plan, bringing the total number of chargepoints to 912.

The chargepoints, known as PoGo Touch, are distinguished by their impressive power range of 50-600kW, a feature that PoGo claims offers the fastest charging speeds available in the UK market.

In the company’s press release Stuart Douglas, Managing Director of PoGo Charge, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded partnership, stating, “This second agreement coming so soon after the first shows the confidence that LCP has in the proven reliability of our technology, the work we’ve already completed and the new installations yet to be energised. It’s clear we share a similar passion for delivering the right infrastructure in the right places to accelerate an electric future.”

Daniel Rainsden, Commercial Director of LCP Group, shared his excitement about the partnership in the press release, noting, “We are thrilled to extend our collaboration with PoGo Charge. Their proven reliability and speed of deployment align perfectly with our vision for a sustainable future. By adding these ultra-rapid charging points, we are significantly enhancing the UK’s EV infrastructure, ensuring that our retail sites are equipped to meet the growing demand for electric vehicle charging. This partnership underscores our commitment to providing the right infrastructure in the right places, driving forward the electric future we all aspire to.”

Douglas further highlighted PoGo Charge’s credentials, stating, “While we may be a young business, we have an established pedigree and are financially well-invested by our parent company, making us the perfect choice for LCP and other similarly engaged landowners and management businesses.”

The expansion of this partnership marks a significant step towards enhancing the UK's EV infrastructure, supporting the growing adoption of electric vehicles and contributing to a more sustainable future.
