South Korea, 16 June 2025: Kia has unveiled the EV4, its first globally-focused all-electric sedan, representing a major milestone in the brand’s ongoing push to strengthen its electric vehicle portfolio. Currently available in South Korea and scheduled for international release in the latter half of 2025, the EV4 blends striking design, high efficiency, and cutting-edge technology to meet the demands of next-generation electric mobility.
Built on Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV4 is offered with two battery options: 58.3 kWh Standard and 81.4 kWh Long Range, both mated to a 150 kW front-wheel-drive motor. The Long Range model boasts a WLTP-estimated range of up to 630 kilometers and can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds. Fast charging capability allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in under 31 minutes, thanks to its 400V architecture.
In keeping with Kia’s “Opposites United” design language, the EV4 features a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette with a segment-leading drag coefficient of 0.230 Cd. The car incorporates 20% recycled materials in its front and rear bumpers, underscoring Kia’s sustainability efforts.
A manual front-mounted charging port, upgraded status indicator, and standard LED lighting further enhance functionality and style. An optional Intelligent Front-lighting System (IFS) improves nighttime visibility without blinding oncoming traffic. The EV4 will be sold in a four-door layout in Korea and North America, while a five-door version will cater to European buyers.
EV4 offers a generous 490 liters of cargo space, complemented by a wider trunk opening to make loading and unloading easier. Inside the cabin, a streamlined touchscreen system seamlessly combines controls for audio, climate, and navigation, creating a modern and intuitive user experience for the driver.
They have introduced i-Pedal 3.0, Kia’s latest regenerative braking system that allows adjustable braking force and supports one-pedal driving. For added versatility, the EV4 is equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capabilities, allowing users to charge external devices or even feed electricity back into the power grid, enhancing its practicality and energy-sharing potential.
The EV4 is equipped with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), led by Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), providing a safer, more intuitive driving experience on highways. Other active safety systems enhance overall occupant protection, making the EV4 a strong performer in both innovation and security.
Kia’s entry into the global electric sedan market with the EV4 signals a confident leap forward in the brand’s electrification journey. Blending sleek design, advanced technology, and impressive driving range, the EV4 brings a fresh alternative to a segment long dominated by electric SUVs and crossovers. With its spacious and functional interior, cutting-edge features, and fast-charging capability, the EV4 stands out as a well-rounded offering for today’s EV buyers. As its international rollout begins in 2025, the EV4 is set to play a central role in Kia’s growing lineup of electric vehicles, appealing to consumers seeking both style and smart mobility.
