Volvo cars India recently launched their electric SUV, the XC40 Recharge which is an electric counterpart of its predecessor XC40. The car is priced at ₹55.90 lakh and is available to order via the company’s official website with a token amount of ₹50,000. The car will be assembled at the company’s Hosakote facility in Karnataka. The company is offering a 3 years warranty on the car and 8 year warranty on the battery pack.

The car packs a 78kWh battery with a 11kWh wallbox charger offering a range of nearly 400km in a single charge with a certified range of 335km. It also supports DC fast charging of upto 150kWh taking its battery from 10 to 80% in less than 35 minutes. The car is also second to none when it comes to its acceleration and power. The car can go from 0 to 100 kmph in less than 5 seconds and it is capable of generating a power of 408hp with a peak torque of 660 Nm making it much more powerful than its petrol variant despite being 400kg heavier than it.

Available in 5 colour options, the SUV offers many features like panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, 360° camera, automatic climate control and much more. The car is now the most affordable luxury electric car available in India with its rivals being the Kia EV6 and the BMW i4 with deliveries expected to start by October this year.

The car emits luxury not only from the outside where it boasts a premium look with 19-inch alloy wheels, a decent ground clearance and an overall sleek design but the interior is also top end in every aspect. The car has a 100% leather free interior with powered front seats having driver-side memory. As far as the infotainment system is concerned, the car will have a digital 12.3 inch driver’s display along with a 9 inch full touch entertainment system co-engineered with google enabling it to offer an android platform. To top all this up, the car also comes with a Harman Kardon sound system enriching the diving experience further.
