15 May 2025: Toyota has announced the bZ4X Touring, a new variant of its all-electric bZ4X SUV, designed to offer greater versatility, performance, and load capacity. Scheduled for launch in Europe in spring 2026, the Touring model targets customers with active lifestyles or those seeking practical, family-friendly EV transport.
The bZ4X Touring is 140 mm longer and 20 mm taller than the standard bZ4X, increasing boot space by over a third to 600 litres. It features a 40:60 split rear seat for extended storage and flexibility, making it suitable for holidays, sports, and leisure gear.
Toyota aims to provide an electric vehicle that supports customer lifestyles without compromise, blending space, efficiency, and SUV capability in the new Touring model. Available in front- and all-wheel-drive versions, the Touring edition comes with a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, supporting 11kW or 22kW onboard charging, and DC fast charging up to 150 kW. AWD models feature Toyota’s XMODE and Grip Control, providing added traction and off-road capability.
Power output is targeted at 224 DIN hp (165 kW) for FWD and 380 DIN hp (280 kW) for AWD, making it Toyota's most powerful BEV to date. The model can also tow up to 1,500 kg and includes a new eAxle with silicon carbide semiconductors for improved performance and efficiency. Toyota’s Battery Care Program ensures peace of mind, covering the battery for up to 10 years or one million kilometres, subject to annual health checks.
This new variant includes a more rugged look with black wheel arches, black wheels, robust roof rails (70 kg capacity), a redesigned rear bumper, and LED rear lamps. A new Brilliant Bronze exterior color and City Moss interior upholstery complete the model’s adventurous aesthetic. The Touring comes standard with a 14-inch multimedia screen, updated instrument panel, and BEV navigation that maps routes based on range and battery status.
With the launch of the bZ4X Touring, Toyota continues to expand its EV line-up, offering a practical and performance-oriented SUV that meets the needs of modern families and adventure-seekers alike. It reinforces Toyota’s commitment to delivering zero-emission mobility without compromising on capability, comfort, or everyday usability, positioning the brand as a serious contender in the evolving BEV landscape.
