UK, 22 April 2025: Tesla is back on top in Europe, securing its position as the leading BEV brand amid a booming start to the year for the continent’s electric vehicle market. Tesla regains lead as Europe’s BEV market gains momentum in early 2025 and Model Y tops February charts, keeping Tesla in the spotlight despite lower deliveries.
Despite all the changing dynamics, the Tesla Model Y surged to the top of the BEV leaderboard in February, registering 9,173 units and reclaiming the title of Europe’s best-selling electric car. This marks a major rebound from January, when it had fallen to third place. Across the first two months of 2025, the Model Y amassed 15,091 registrations, making it the undisputed best-selling BEV in Europe so far this year, with a market share of 4.5%.
Tesla’s momentum didn’t stop there. The Model 3 made a strong comeback, climbing from 11th place in January to second place in February, with 6,972 registrations. While this figure represents a 14.2% decrease compared to February 2024, it signals a solid recovery for the model, especially in a highly competitive market.
Tesla’s continued dominance comes as Europe’s BEV market recorded explosive growth, with February registrations jumping 25.6% year on year to 166,319 units. The sector has now grown over 30% across the first two months of the year, totalling 331,890 new BEV registrations. Tesla’s enduring popularity signals more than just strong product-market fit, but it reflects a deep consumer trust in the brand’s innovation, technology, and ecosystem of services.
As 2025 unfolds, all eyes remain on Tesla’s next moves in the European market. With its refreshed Model 3 gaining traction and new models like the Cybertruck and updated Model Y variants generating buzz globally, the company seems poised to further expand its lead. Additionally, Tesla’s role in advancing EV infrastructure, including Supercharger network expansion and over-the-air software updates, continues to offer competitive advantages that extend beyond the showroom floor.
As the company navigates a dynamic automotive landscape, its commitment to innovation, customer-centric design, and infrastructure investment remains central to its success. With sustained momentum and a forward-looking strategy, Tesla is well-positioned to shape the future of sustainable mobility across Europe.
