Riyadh, 07 Jan, 2024: The Energy Ministry of Saudi Arabia and NEOM have collaborated to encourage the integration of cutting-edge technologies within the Kingdom's energy domain. The Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Abdulaziz and CEO of NEOM, Engineer Nadhmi Al-Nasr.

The MOU delineates a partnership between both entities aimed at advancing cutting-edge technologies within the energy domain, while adhering to relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, it encompasses regular assessment of progress and identification of areas for enhancement. Moreover, it involves offering technical and organisational resolutions in sectors like renewable energy technologies, hydrogen, sustainability, and innovation.

Furthermore, the memorandum of understanding seeks to align and amalgamate both parties with diverse energy system entities, encompassing the Water and Electricity Regulatory Authority, the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission, the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center, the Executive Committee for the Governance of Energy and Water Prices Reform, and the National Committee for the Clean Development Mechanism.

With a collective focus on innovation and sustainable development, this partnership underscores a commitment to shaping a progressive and resilient energy landscape. As both entities join forces, their combined expertise and concerted efforts promise to drive groundbreaking advancements, revolutionising the energy sector and setting the stage for a more sustainable future in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
