Sweden, 11 June 2025: Swedish electric performance carmaker Polestar has officially launched their EV lineup in France, marking a major milestone in its global expansion. France becomes the 28th market for the brand, solidifying its presence on four continents and reinforcing its commitment to growth in Europe, one of the world’s fastest-evolving electric vehicle regions.

Effective immediately, French customers can order the entire Polestar line-up, Polestar 2, Polestar 3, and the new Polestar 4, through the company’s website. This direct-to-consumer approach reflects the brand’s modern retail strategy, which is being supported by a growing network of physical outlets called Polestar Spaces. These locations are designed to offer immersive brand experiences and product interaction, complementing online sales with a more personalised customer journey.

The first Polestar Space in France is set to open in July in Le Mans, a city synonymous with motorsport heritage. The company aims to open up to ten additional locations across key urban centres by the end of 2025. These Spaces will be developed in collaboration with selected retail partners from the established Volvo Cars dealer network, providing trusted service and support to customers from the outset.

In an official press release by Polestar, Stephane Le Guevel, Managing Director of Polestar France, emphasised the company’s ambitious local roadmap by stating: “We have an ambitious expansion plan in France, with an ambition to open up to ten sales points already in 2025 and accelerating even further in 2026. The Polestar brand is a perfect fit for France with a strong focus on performance, design, and sustainability.”

To ensure robust aftersales support, Polestar is launching in France with a nationwide network of over 100 service locations, enabling reliable and efficient maintenance across the country from day one.

In the same press release, Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller highlighted France’s strategic importance and stated, “We are very excited to bring our portfolio of performance EVs to France, one of Europe’s fastest-growing EV markets. Our cars are already receiving fantastic media reviews in France, and we look forward to seeing more and more Polestars on French roads during the second half of the year.”

Looking ahead, Polestar plans to expand its product portfolio with the Polestar 5, a four-door GT, expected to arrive in 2025, followed by the Polestar 6 electric roadster. These upcoming models will continue to reinforce the brand’s identity, combining Scandinavian design, cutting-edge technology, and a focus on driving performance.

Polestar’s French debut also reflects its broader commitment to environmental sustainability. The company is aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions per vehicle by 50% by 2030, with the ultimate goal of achieving full climate neutrality across its entire value chain by 2040. This ambition drives innovations in design, material sourcing, energy use, and manufacturing, including plans for future production in Europe.

Polestar’s arrival in France is not just a market launch; it’s a strategic move into a key region for EV adoption. By offering a compelling blend of performance, design, and sustainability, and backing it with a modern retail and service model, Polestar is poised to resonate with French consumers looking for innovative, eco-conscious mobility solutions. With an expanding line-up and clear vision for the future, the brand’s entry into France signals the next phase of growth for one of the most progressive names in electric mobility.
