France, 13 June 2025: Peugeot has officially unveiled the E-208 GTi, its first fully electric GTi model, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking 40 years since the debut of the iconic 205 GTi. This new model blends the spirit of Peugeot's sporty legacy with modern electric performance, offering a dynamic driving experience wrapped in a compact hatchback design.

The E-208 GTi is driven by a powerful 280 hp electric motor that produces 345 Nm of torque, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.7 seconds, with a top speed of 112 mph. At its core is a 54 kWh battery, specifically tuned for performance and supported by a dedicated cooling system and advanced energy management. To ensure optimal grip and control in diverse driving conditions, Peugeot has integrated a limited-slip differential directly into the gear reducer.

In an official press release by Stellantis, Alain Favey, CEO of PEUGEOT, stated, “We are thrilled to introduce the new PEUGEOT E-208 GTi, a ground-breaking next chapter in an iconic GTi story. This model represents a fusion of our rich heritage with cutting-edge technology, offering unparalleled performance and driving sensations, because at PEUGEOT, we are serious about driving pleasure. With this new GTi, we set new standards within the hot hatch market.”

In the same press release, Jean Marc Finot, Senior Vice President of Stellantis Motorsport, stated: “The new PEUGEOT E-208 GTi embodies our commitment to performance and innovation, drawing from our extensive race pedigree, including a heritage of rally accomplishments and now competing in the World Endurance Championship. Having been involved in the creation of the original 205 GTi 40 years ago, this new era of innovation with the E-208 GTi is especially meaningful to me, and I am happy to find again the typical PEUGEOT GTi agility and steering feeling. I am proud to present a car that combines racing excellence with modern driving pleasure.”

The E-208 GTi also features PEUGEOT i-Connect Advanced infotainment, including navigation, wireless advanced CarPlay, smart Auto voice recognition, and V2L (vehicle-to-load) capability. Its WLTP-estimated range is 217 miles, and it can charge from 20% to 80% in under 30 minutes using a 100 kW DC fast charger. A full charge on a 7.4 kW AC unit takes about 4 hours and 40 minutes. A charging limiter and remote vehicle controls are accessible via the MyPEUGEOT app.

Supported by the PEUGEOT ELECTRIC PROMISE, the E-208 GTi comes with extensive peace of mind, offering an 8-year or 100,000-mile warranty for both the vehicle and its battery, along with seamless access to a vast charging network of over 700,000 stations across the UK and Europe through the Free2Move Charge Pass.

At its core, the E-208 GTi is not merely an electric adaptation of a classic; it’s a daring reimagination of Peugeot’s legendary hot hatch legacy. Seamlessly blending the unmistakable GTi spirit with advanced electric performance, the E-208 GTi redefines what driving excitement means in the age of electrification. With its signature design elements, motorsport-inspired engineering, and forward-looking technology, it confidently establishes a new standard for electric hot hatches while remaining faithful to Peugeot’s rich performance heritage.
