OLA Electric Creates A Landmark, Sets Up 500th Showroom In India

May 15th, 2023: Ola Electric, India’s leading EV startup has hit a milestone by opening its 500th Experience Centre (EC) in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, as part of its strategy to expand its Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) presence in the country. Apart from the presence of 500 showrooms across the country, the company attributes a significant portion of its sales to its website and app. Moreover, the automaker’s adoption of an omnichannel approach has facilitated EV accessibility throughout India, particularly in remote areas, where EVs were previously scarce.

At the inaugural function, Anshul Khandelwal, CMO, OLA Electric while expressing his thoughts on this phenomenal achievement, said, “The opening of our 500th store signifies not only a celebration of our accomplishments, but also serves as a reminder of the challenges that still lie ahead. He further elucidated OLA Electric’s commitment towards a sustainable future for India and highlighted the company's dedication towards promotion of electric mobility solutions.”

With this move of expansion of its showroom network and exceptional market performance, OLA Electric has undoubtedly made a significant impact on the Indian EV landscape. The opening of its 500th Experience Centre underscores OLA’s commitment to provide accessible and sustainable e-mobility options to commuters across the nation.

The EV brand has undoubtedly established itself as a leader in the Indian EV scooter market, currently engrossing a significant 40% market share. At the inauguration, the company’s pursued success was highlighted by its highest ever monthly sales in April, where it sold over 30,000 units, thereby solidifying OLA’s position at the top of two - wheeler EV sales for the eight consecutive month.

Moreover, with the steady growth in the OLA electric’s showroom network, the company is expected to further accelerate the adoption of EVs in India.
