Europe, 21 May, 2025: Nissan has officially unveiled the all-new electric Micra, bringing back the iconic supermini in an all-electric avatar ahead of its European market debut later this year. This marks a significant step in Nissan’s electrification strategy across the region.

Blending modern innovation with classic design cues, the new electric Micra will be available with a choice of two battery options: a 40 kWh version capable of 192 miles and a larger 52 kWh option that extends the range to 253 miles. The smaller battery variant produces 122 hp and 225 Nm of torque, while the more powerful option delivers 150 PS and 245 Nm.

Micra EV supports rapid DC charging, enabling a 15% to 80% charge in just 30 minutes. This swift turnaround is powered by integrated 80 kW and 100 kW charging systems depending on the variant. A heat pump is included as standard to enhance overall energy efficiency, especially in colder climates.

The cabin of the new Micra reflects its high-tech ambitions, featuring dual 10.1-inch displays, one for the driver’s instrument cluster and another for the central infotainment system. It’s also the second model in Nissan’s European lineup to feature the brand’s new infotainment platform, NissanConnect, with Google built-in, including access to Google Maps as standard.

In terms of driver assistance and safety, the electric Micra is equipped with Nissan’s ProPilot Assist, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, and autonomous emergency braking. Additional safety technologies include Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Monitoring System, Intelligent Speed Assist, Blind Spot Intervention, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and more.

In an official press release by Nissan, Arnaud Charpentier, Region Vice President, Marketing & Mobility at Nissan AMIEO, stated, “We are proud to oversee the return of the MICRA name to Nissan’s range in Europe. It’s a name with over 40 years of history and the new chapter it will write for Nissan and our customer is a purely electrified one – but it remains true to its DNA of being playful, audacious and agile. It will electrify the streets wherever it goes.”

The Micra EV kicks off a wider product campaign from Nissan in Europe. Between now and 2027, the company plans to introduce three additional all-electric models: a new version of the Leaf, a fully electric Juke, and a compact A-segment city car. Furthermore, Nissan will expand its advanced third-generation e-Power technology across other vehicles, including the Qashqai.

The electric Micra revives an iconic name and underscores Nissan’s bold stride toward sustainable innovation and its deepening commitment to shaping the future of mobility in Europe. It sets the tone for Nissan’s ambitious EV strategy, blending heritage with innovation to meet the demands of tomorrow’s mobility.
