Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - August 20, 2025: Lenovo is deepening its commitment to Saudi Arabia with the appointment of a new leadership team and the confirmation of its regional headquarters in Riyadh, moves the company says will anchor its long-term role in the Kingdom’s economic transformation.
The technology giant has chosen Al Majdoul Tower, one of the capital’s most recognizable landmarks and an emerging hub for innovation, as the home of its regional base. The decision ties closely to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan, which seeks to diversify the economy beyond oil and accelerate digital transformation.
The announcement also comes as Lenovo pushes ahead with its partnership with ALAT, a company backed by the Public Investment Fund. Together, the two firms are building a 200,000-square-meter advanced manufacturing site in the Riyadh Integrated zone operated by the Special Integrated Logistics Zone. Ground was broken earlier this year, and the facility is expected to begin turning out millions of “Saudi Made” devices by 2026.
Matt Dobrodziej, Senior Vice President and President for Lenovo in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, called the Riyadh headquarters “a major milestone in our regional strategy.” He added, “Through our strategic partnership with ALAT and investment in advanced manufacturing, we are proud to contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by supporting industrial diversification, accelerating digital transformation, and enabling sustainable economic growth. Our initiatives in Saudi Arabia, including the RHQ, flagship retail space, and the Riyadh-based manufacturing facility are projected to contribute up to USD 10 billion to non-oil GDP by 2030, reinforcing our commitment to the Kingdom’s long-term development.”
The company also announced three senior appointments to lead its operations in Saudi Arabia and the wider region. Lawrence Yu, a Lenovo veteran of 15 years, has been named head of the new regional headquarters. Yu was instrumental in shaping Lenovo’s partnership with ALAT and in planning the new Riyadh manufacturing hub. He previously ran Lenovo’s Retail Solutions division, steering it to record revenue growth and winning the Edison Award for Commercial Technology.
Giovanni Di Filippo will oversee Lenovo Saudi Arabia as Vice President and General Manager, managing all of the company’s business units in the Kingdom. Di Filippo most recently led Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, where he nearly doubled market share.
Zoran Radumilo joins as Chief Technology Officer for Saudi Arabia. With more than two decades of experience in enterprise technology, including leadership roles in artificial intelligence, cloud, and software solutions, he is tasked with shaping Lenovo’s sector-specific strategies for government, energy, telecom, financial services, and smart cities.
The regional headquarters is expected to host not only core business operations but also retail, R&D, marketing, and customer engagement centers. Its location at Al Majdoul Tower places Lenovo alongside government ministries, investment funds, and fellow technology players, further embedding the company in Riyadh’s growing innovation landscape.
For Lenovo, which generated $69 billion in revenue last year and serves customers in 180 markets, Saudi Arabia is fast becoming a focal point of its global ambitions. The company is betting that its investment in leadership, manufacturing, and a permanent regional base will position it at the heart of the Kingdom’s fast-changing digital economy.
