United Kingdom, 29 April 2025: Kia UK has officially announced specifications and pricing for its first dedicated fully electric commercial vehicle, the Kia PV5. The range promises flexibility, efficiency, and innovation across multiple variants designed for the UK market.

Versatile Line-Up and Competitive Pricing
Cargo, Crew, and Chassis Cab are the three main commercial versions of the PV5 family; there are also variations for Passenger and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAV). The Cargo model, launching first, will be available in L2/H1 configuration with two well-equipped trim levels: ‘Essential’ and ‘Plus’.

The normal range battery version of the PV5 Cargo L2/H1 costs £27,645 (+VAT), while the long-range battery version costs £30,145 (+VAT). Additionally, the car will be eligible for the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) Plug-in Van Grant, which can save up to £5,000 on the original purchase price.

Electric Powertrain and Charging
A 51.5 kWh standard range battery or a 71.2 kWh long-range battery are the options available to buyers. In contrast to the long-range variant, which produces 120 kW and has a range of up to 247 miles, the regular range variant has 89.4 kW of power and a maximum range of 181 miles.

All PV5 models support 400 V fast charging, enabling a 10-to-80% battery top-up in under 30 minutes when connected to a 150 kW charging point.

Designed for Commercial Use
Designed from the ground up, the PV5 takes advantage of its E-GMP.S electric platform, delivering a class-leading low rear cargo load height of just 419mm and a tight 10.8-metre turning circle.

With a cargo volume of 4.4m³ and a payload capacity of up to 790kg (690kg with the long-range battery), the PV5 Cargo L2/H1 has ample room for two conventional euro-pallets. In 2026, more variations, such as L1/H1 and L2/H2, are anticipated.

The PV5 Cargo has a three-door configuration by default (two cab doors and one nearside sliding cargo door), while an offside fourth door is an option. In addition to the basic split back door with detachable hinges, there will be options for flooring, racks, and additional security features.

Crew and Chassis Cab Variants
The PV5 Crew variant includes two front seats and a flexible rear bench, accommodating both passengers and cargo. Available only in L2/H1 form with the standard range battery, it delivers up to 174 miles* of range, with a 605kg payload and a cargo volume ranging from 2.4m³ to 3.7 3.7m³.

In the meantime, the PV5 Chassis Cab provides unmatched versatility with up to 995 kg of payload (long-range battery) and factory-built conversion options. The regular range is 155 miles*, while the long range is 217 miles.

Looking Ahead
With the introduction of the PV5, Kia marks a significant step into the electric vehicle market, offering a versatile, capable, and future-focused solution for businesses of all sizes. Designed from the ground up as an EV, the PV5 range combines impressive range, fast-charging capability, and practical load-carrying performance, all backed by Kia’s renowned seven-year warranty. The PV5 is poised to become a game-changer in the commercial EV sector.
