Kia launches EV5, a fully electric mid-sized SUV in Europe

8 July 2025: Kia has officially introduced the all-new EV5, a mid-size electric SUV tailored for families and adventure seekers alike. The EV5 solidifies Kia's drive towards sustainable and electric transportation by fusing state-of-the-art performance with a spacious and futuristic look. It is built on the Hyundai Motor Group's cutting-edge Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The EV5 will begin its global launch in South Korea and Europe in late 2025

The EV5 reflects Kia’s commitment to innovative design with its rugged yet refined SUV form. Measuring 4,610 mm in length with a 2,750 mm wheelbase, it features the signature ‘Star Map’ LED daytime running lights and a digital ‘tiger face’ grille. The geometric fenders, square profile, and large 19-inch wheels lend a modern, urban-meets-outdoors look perfect for all kinds of adventures.

Inside, the EV5 offers a tech-forward, comfortable experience. A unified panoramic display combines dual 12.3-inch screens and a 5-inch panel for climate control. The sliding centre console, foldable second-row seats, and generous 2,080-litre cargo space provide practicality and flexibility. Comfort is further enhanced with features like massage-enabled relaxation seats, three-zone climate control, and rear seat-back tables.

The EV5 comes with two battery options: 60.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh, delivering a WLTP-estimated range of up to 530 km. It supports fast DC charging, reaching 80% in just 30 minutes. Equipped with i-Pedal 3.0 for seamless one-pedal driving, it also includes V2L and upcoming V2G capabilities, enabling it to act as a mobile power source. A towing capacity of 1,200 kg adds to its practical appeal.

Built with a reinforced body and seven airbags, the EV5 integrates advanced safety tech like Highway Driving Assist 2 and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2. It also introduces the latest connected technologies via Kia’s Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), featuring Over-the-Air updates, a built-in AI assistant, and premium Harman Kardon audio, delivering a high-tech, secure, and enjoyable driving experience.

The Kia EV5 redefines what an electric SUV can offer, combining bold design, advanced technology, and everyday versatility. With long-range capability, rapid charging, and smart features tailored for modern families, it’s built for both daily commutes and weekend adventures. As Kia expands its global EV presence, the EV5 emerges as a powerful symbol of sustainable, future-ready mobility.
