London, UK | July 25, 2025: Hyundai UK has announced a sweeping electric vehicle grant program, offering buyers substantial discounts of up to £3,750 across its EV lineup in the UK and key global markets. The initiative, aimed at accelerating the shift to electric mobility, covers popular models including the Inster EV, IONIQ 5, and the all-new IONIQ 9.
Effective immediately, UK buyers can save £3,750 on the 2025 Hyundai Inster EV, the company’s entry-level electric SUV, while £1,500 discounts are available on the IONIQ 5, Kona Electric, and IONIQ 9.
In an official press release by Hyundai UK, Ashley Andrew, President of Hyundai and Genesis UK, Stated, “As the electric vehicle landscape continues to evolve, it is important that customers have complete clarity, choice, and compelling value when making the switch to electric. Our diverse EV portfolio means we can offer something for every driving need, from the compact and efficient INSTER to our flagship IONIQ 9 seven-seat SUV. By providing immediate financial support through our grant programme, we're ensuring that more customers can experience the significant long-term savings that come with electric driving.”
To sweeten the deal, Hyundai is running an ‘Electrifying Summer’ promotion through August 31, which adds an extra £500 discount on the Inster EV and Kona Electric. In addition, 24-hour test drives are being offered across Hyundai’s UK dealer network to allow customers to fully experience the vehicles before purchase.
In the U.S., Hyundai is rolling out attractive lease offers on the 2025 IONIQ 5, which now delivers a 318-mile range and supports Tesla Supercharger access via NACS. Lease rates start at $179 per month, though terms may vary by region and dealer. Built at Hyundai’s Georgia EV plant, both the IONIQ 5 and the upcoming IONIQ 9 remain eligible for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit through September 30, 2025.
Hyundai’s EV lineup is now fully rounded out, with the arrival of the Inster EV and flagship IONIQ 9, covering everything from budget-friendly city models to spacious three-row electric SUVs. According to Jato Dynamics, Hyundai ranked as the 10th best-selling EV brand in Europe during the first half of 2025. The Inster EV alone secured a place in the top 20 most registered EVs last month, with over 3,300 units sold. Hyundai Motor Group, including Kia, increased its European EV market share from 12.6% to 19.1% in the same period.
Hyundai’s latest EV grant program underscores the intensifying competition in the global electric vehicle market, where price incentives are emerging as a critical tool to attract buyers amid rising production volumes and new entrants. By combining aggressive discounts with financing options, tax credits, and an expanded EV portfolio, Hyundai is positioning itself to capture greater market share while pushing mainstream adoption of electric mobility.
