14 March, London: Boldyn Networks (Boldyn) and G.Network have joined forces in a recent strategic collaboration to speed up London’s aspiration to become one of the leading global smart cities. A leader in shared communications infrastructure, Boldyn Networks and G.Network, London’s full-fibre provider, announced this new strategic partnership last week to develop an efficiently connected London.
This partnership is in line with the ‘Smarter London Together’ roadmap developed collectively by the Mayor of London and his Chief Digital Officer (CDO), Theo Blackwell. The roadmap aims to enhance connectivity, optimise city services, and foster sustainable development across the UK. The plan involves the development of a new high-speed fibre network across the capital, improved mobile coverage in the busy areas of the city along with bringing 4G and 5G to the underground sections of the Tube and Elizabeth line for the very first time.
Commenting on the partnership, G.Network CEO, Kevin Murphy said, “Our exciting partnership with Boldyn Networks marks a significant moment in London's digital transformation and an important step for G.Network. Together, we will demonstrate how smart infrastructure expertise, coupled with our gigafast network can turn the mayor’s vision for a better-connected London into a reality.”
G.Network will be supporting Boldyn Networks, the Greater London Authority and Transport for London’s (TfL) project to launch improved fibre connectivity to London’s boroughs.
"We are delighted to be working with G.Network in our shared commitment to deliver London's smart city ambitions, as we build a new fibre network across London in partnership with Transport for London. By harnessing the power of cutting-edge technology and robust infrastructure, we aim to unlock new opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and inclusivity, ultimately improving the quality of life for all Londoners." said Billy D’Arcy, CEO, Boldyn Networks UK and Ireland in a company press release.
This collaboration will bring together Boldyn's expertise in developing intelligent infrastructure solutions and G.Network's high-speed, cost-effective full-fibre broadband offerings. Together, the two companies will develop and implement cutting-edge solutions meticulously designed to address the connectivity requirements of Londoners, enterprises, and local communities within the city.
