Bentley Reimagines the Grand Tourer with EXP 15 EV

UK, 8 July 2025: Bentley Motors has revealed its latest design concept, the EXP 15, an innovative expression of the brand’s electric future. Unveiled alongside the opening of its new state-of-the-art design studio, EXP 15 draws deeply from Bentley’s rich grand touring legacy while embracing cutting-edge technologies and sustainable design.

Inspired by the iconic 1930 Bentley Speed Six “Blue Train” coupe, the concept showcases a long, flowing bonnet, upright grille, and sweeping roofline that pays homage to the past but is firmly rooted in a forward-looking vision. The EXP 15’s exterior is defined by five key design principles: Upright Elegance, Iconic Grille, Endless Bonnet Line, Resting Beast, and Prestigious Shield, all aimed at shaping the identity of Bentley’s next generation of vehicles.

The upright front profile and illuminated grille redefine traditional luxury in the age of electrification. Advanced LED lighting, active aerodynamics, and a monolithic body surface express power and precision, while refined design cues ensure the concept remains unmistakably Bentley.

Designed through advanced VR, the EXP 15 boasts a non-traditional three-seat, three-door layout focused on an adaptable user experience cabin that merges tactile luxury, such as wool textiles by Fox Brothers and silk jacquard by Gainsborough, with futuristic elements like a full-width digital dashboard that can disappear to reveal rich veneers.

A passenger seat that swivels outward enhances entry and exit, while a concealed floor storage system adds practicality. Even the boot offers dual functionality, transforming into a luxury picnic space complete with deployable seats and a built-in fridge.

Sustainability and innovation are at the heart of EXP 15’s material choices. A striking Pallas Gold satin finish features ultra-thin aluminium pigment, allowing radar and Lidar transparency for autonomous driving systems. Inside, illuminated quilting, 3D-printed titanium details, and backlit mesh elevate the ambience, blending old-world craftsmanship with high-tech sophistication.

Bentley’s five interior design themes, Wing Gesture, intrepid Gravitas, Cocooning Haven, Iconic Details, and Magical Fusion, seamlessly blend traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge digital innovation to create a rich, immersive user experience.

Though Bentley has not revealed performance specifications, EXP 15 is envisioned with a fully electric, all-wheel-drive powertrain designed to deliver long range and rapid charging. It represents not just a design study but a signal of Bentley’s evolving identity in the electric era, effortless power, intelligent luxury, and sustainable innovation.

The EXP 15, while primarily a design showcase, envisions a fully electric, all-wheel-drive powertrain offering long range and fast charging to match Bentley’s luxury standards, though specific technical details remain undisclosed. Inspired by the 1930 Speed Six "Blue Train" coupe, the concept isn’t a retro recreation nor a preview of the brand’s 2026 production EV. Instead, it subtly echoes Bentley’s heritage while introducing futuristic design and digital innovations that may shape the marque’s long-term electric future.
